National III motorcycle mufflers are equipped with metal catalysts. If unburned natural materials enter the muffler and accumulate in the metal catalyst honeycomb, they will be ignited by exhaust gas, and the temperature will rise sharply. When the metal material honeycomb exceeds the allowable temperature (1200 ℃) of the metal material honeycomb, the metal material honeycomb falls off or melts.
To avoid the above situation, it is necessary to try to avoid unlit fuel entering the muffler operation, such as: bombing the throttle with standing air, stalling and sliding, etc. Cancel the ignition switch on the bicycle to prevent the motorcycle from stalling and sliding.
2、 Go to a regular gas station to refuel, do not refuel inside the muffler.
The catalyst aperture in motorcycle mufflers is 200 or 300 mesh, which is thinner and more prone to clogging than the 100 mesh catalyst aperture previously installed in motorcycle mufflers. If the impurity content in the gasoline used exceeds the standard or if engine oil is added to the muffler, it will cause catalyst blockage. For this, please use gasoline from regular gas stations and do not add engine oil to the inside of the muffler.
3、 Ensure that the muffler does not ignite inside and has good external heat dissipation.
Silencers coated with black paint on the surface will fade or even turn grayish white at high temperatures. To avoid discoloration of the muffler, the interior of the muffler should not ignite and the external heat dissipation should be good. The specific measures are: do not drive for a long time when closing the air damper; Cannot bombard the throttle with air for a long time; Windshield or other decorations cannot be installed in front of the engine and muffler; Cannot drive in low gear with high load for a long time.
In addition, the composition of paint changes at high temperatures and forms some pores at the microscopic level. Soil components such as SiO2 infiltrate micropores and sinter with paint at high temperatures, making it difficult to clean. To avoid this phenomenon, when there are a large amount of oil stains, soil and other stains on the surface of the muffler, they should be cleaned in a timely manner.
